5-Year Blogiversary Approaches

September 27

On October 21st, the AudKnits website will officially turn 5 years old! It’s hard to believe all that has happened since its debut. There have been many personal challenges balanced out by the joy of my book Reversible Scarves: Curing the Wrong Side Blues.

As you may remember from years past, I love to do a giveaway in celebration of the Blogiversary. I’m going to totally tease you by letting you know now that this year’s giveaway will be by far the biggest! Keep your eyes peeled for upcoming reviews that will give you hints as to what the big prize is going to be.

I just had to write this post now, since I’m bursting with anticipation!

4 Year Blogiversary and Giveaway

October 22

It’s hard to believe another year of blogs has gone by! My AudKnits website turns 4 this year, and I want to thank all of you for making it an exciting one.

Of course the big news of the year was the publication of my book Reversible Scarves: Curing the Wrong Side Blues. I’m thrilled that the book has been well received by the knitting community!

I also published my Emmalina Hat, with lots of fun twisted stitch detailing

and the Page Turner Throw

Yippee! I’m conducting another giveaway, with FOUR winners to celebrate FOUR years of blogging.  The fantastic Lima Pop Shoppe on Artfire has created a Special Edition set of six stitch markers using colors from the AudKnits website! Laurie Prestia carefully crafts her markers using smooth wire that does not catch on yarn. The markers fit up to US #10 size needles, but are thin enough to work well on small needles as well – I use mine on sock and lace projects all the time.

AudKnits Turns 3 with a Giveaway

October 31

The AudKnits blog began three years ago! To celebrate, I give you links to my favorite posts in case you missed them, followed by a giveaway.

My all-time favorite post was the one about the goat who decided to live at our house for a while. He was a dear soul, and I loved having him around! Here is the story behind ”Portraits of a Goat.”

Based on visits, people seem to enjoy posts about Jared Flood‘s designs. His Koolhaas Hat and Girasole are the most popular among the projects I’ve made.

Some of the most gratifying posts trace my design efforts, from my first published design – the Smock Top Sweater kindly published in Knotions, to the thrill of having my Eleanor Cowl included in Knitty. I appreciate your enthusiasm and kind words as I’ve come out with new patterns!

Can you believe that there are now 500 Eleanor Cowls on Ravelry?! There are so many beautiful different colors and yarns – I love seeing all the variations.

As a thank you to my readers, and to celebrate the blog’s birthday, I’m going to give away sets of delightful care cards made by the talented Becky Morrette of Sunday Drive Designs. I love having an easy way to let people know how to care for the gifts I knit for them. These cards have common care terms that you can check off, as well as room to write the fiber content and other instruction. They’re cute and practical – what a great combination! – and I’m going to give THREE sets away to celebrate THREE years of AudKnits!
